Harry Potter

If your not a Harry Potter fan then I suggest you skip over this post, but I'm mean, J.K. has been publishing books for seven years so you better believe I have something to say about it. oh, and it is full of spoilers.!!!..



Alright, let me try to organize my thoughts here. Okay, I'll try to go by year.



Year one, Harry Potter and the Sorccerer's Stone(or Socceror's however you spell it).

Let's see, Harry has a bad childhood and his parents are dead. He sees Lily and James in a mirror, they're good guys and...hold up... they do magic. That's right Harry's a wizard. I love how he has a sort of sucky life, but it doesn't change him he hates the Dudleys but he doesn't talk back or throw tantrums because he's the good guy clean and clear. I love how it makes you think that no matter how bad of a situation you're in there's still a good chance that if you keep cool you could recieve a magical letter saying that there's something special about you, you have magical powers, and you get to go live and learn at Hogwarts when you turn 11.(letter=metephor for things will get better).

Year two, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

I like to think of this book as an introduction to Ginny Weasley. Anyways, other than the intro deeper into the Weasley family and the continuously pointed out fact that Malfoy's and all other pureblood peps don't care for mudbloods like Granger's. Other then those two things that help set the stones for the next HP books, I don't really like the 2nd book. I mean, it's just overdone. Giant spiders in a giant forrest with a giant secret the fact that it was possible that the freindly giant Haggrid unleashed the Giant spiders, which turns out that was nothing compared to the Giant snake hidden in the school's giant plumbing system. Which was deffeated with help from Hermione(at one point in the form of a giant cat), Ron, Harry, Godric's Sword, that giant hat, Fawkes, and absolutely no help from a Giant airhead Lockheart. Oh, and the snake petrifies a giant # of people(what was iiiiiiiii pushing it).



Year three, Harry Potter and The Prizoner of Azkaban

This is where it gets good. Okay, let's see, the nerd children have became hot teenagers at 14 years old. The wardrobe for the movie goes from less perfect unifroms and more suits minus the jacket with loosened ties and jeans. Also, Hermione's pink hoodie that she whears while she punches Malfoy in the face. The new outfits show that the losers are grown ups now, duh duh duh. Hermione's less poofy more pretty hair also helps with the grown-up factor. I love how the elements of dreams like time travel and flying are intertwined into the story. I love how everything gets more detailed Haggrid a know pet lover teaches an animal class, gets Buckbeak as a pet, and even cries when because Buckbeak attacked Malfoy(can you blame him) and is going to be beheaded. You get more details in the hatred between Malfoy and Hr/Hm/and Ron. I mean, Hermione punches him in to a giant stone and his head ricaches off her fist to the stone and back with great sound affects, he tells he daddy about Buckbeak and gets him "almost" beheaded, and constant dirty looks between the two parties. Dumbledore is more intertwined in the story with the whole timeturner thing. And drum-role please, Gary Oldman as Sirus Black was amazing. He is such a good actor and I love how he's the bad guy and then you find out he's a really good guy that was framed by Wormtail a good guy turned bad. But the story interestingly twists around the fact that even Harry and Lupin(his old friend) don't believe that Sirus is a good guy and try to kill him, with Snape on their tale they try to unravel the truth. After he is proved loyal to his friends, they releize that he can't be proved inccoent of the killings that hade givin him the reputation of a bad guy in the first place and put him in prison to the law. So, after telling Harry he's his godfather and would like to look after Harry he fleas. Oh, did I mention he turns into a dog, Lupin turns into a warewolf, wormtail was discuised as Ron's pet rat, and Harry's dad James turns into a stag. They were friends and turned into animals to help control Lupin when he turned. Wormtail was the bad guy. I love how the story is twisted and dramatic, but it remains interesting and never became overdone! This is one off my favorites. P.S. warewolves rock.



Year four, Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire

I like this one alot. It fills in the blanks. It gives you a break from the difficult story line and it's nice to have a break. It, also, acts like a side of the story or a break from the whole "Voldy's bad" thing. I love how it is all like let's play a game, you get a new teacher, and then boom. (You didn't think Voldy was going to hide out forever, did yo?) Then, Cedric dies. Tear tear. And it helps with the whole Hermione is more of cool girl than a geek girl.

Year five, Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix

I love year five. That's when you releize that even (dare I say?) fictional characters die and war means that it's enevitable. Sirus dies, nnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!! Harry's dreams of living with a decent human (or dog) are shattered. Harry discovers that there is a group of people that what to do all that they can to help defeat Voldy. Anyways, they are called the Order of the Poenix, like the bird that is reborn from it's own ashes and has healing powered tears. The Order, he finds out, has been around since the first time that people stood up against Voldy. He discovers that his mother, father, Sirus, Lupin, Wormtail, and Dumbledore were all in the Order the first time around. All of them die by the end of the 7th book. In this book you are introducced to my favorite character, Nemphadora Tonks(Tonks). Her hair changes with her mood and she can change any part of her body into anything. In the movie she gives herself a beak nose. Bella (Bellatrix Lestrange), my favorite character on the bad side, is Voldy's most loyal follower and.....wait for it.......Draco Malfoy's Aunt!!!!!And a relative of Sirus. Bella kills Sirus. Both of them broke out of Azkaban!

Year six, Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince

Harry continues with his school work and finds it kind-of hard. His text book is full of cheats and little tips written in the corner. His book's notes come from the mysterious Half-Blooded prince. The question is, is he a good guy or a bad guy? Well, he's Snape....so... Anyways, there are these things that Voldy can put parts of his soul in and Harry and Dumbledore are ocasionally missing from school because they are trying to find and destroy these soul section thingys cause if they all are killed then it's possible for Harry to defeat Voldy. Anyways, Dumbledore comes back a little off balance and sees the dark mark above Hogwarts. When Harry and him reach the school he notices DeathEaters are everywhere, his teachers are defending the school and students, and people are injured. Surrounded by DeathEaters he puts a spell on Harry that freezes him under his invisibility cloak and Draco(Who's dad's a Death Eater) tries to kill Dumbledore, but can't do it, so Professor Snape(who people didn't trust, but Dumbledore always defended) killed him. Harry chases after Snape, who get's away. My favorite little Harry Potter anticdote, one of the Wealsey brothers has been bitten by a warewolf and Flour and Mrs. Weasley work out their differences after Mrs. Weasley reliezes that Flour still wants to marry half-warewolf Bill. But that's not even the good part, while the talking about it Tonks inturupts. I can picture her, see cant's take it anymore so she walks over to Remus Lupin and says(my qoutes aren't correct, I just don't want to confuse) "See, she doesn't care if he's a warewolf, she still loves him" and then...oh snap... everyone's all like "oh my god, Tonks loves Remus" Then, Remus very uncomfortablly says something like "it's too dangerous, and I'm too old, I don't want you to get hurt. You deserve a whole man not one that could kill you when there's a full moon." Mrs. Weasley pipes in with a "Dumbledore would want there to be more love in the world, I always thought you where crazy to act like that Remus." And boda boom bada bam, Harry explain's Dumbledore's death, people get sad, Minevera Magonagell(Spell Check???) becomes Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and war is officialy declared!

Year seven, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows

The final book that sums up the beloved series. It turns out that Dumbledore's wand had insane powers, was made by death, and could never be defeated in battle. So confused, we reader's find out when Snape is killed by Voldy and Harry takes his memories that Snape didn't defeat Dumbledore, Dumbledore asked Snape to kill him. This means that Dumbledore was never defeated and the wand can do no harm, but since Draco had dissarmed Malfoy the wand still possesed his powers. In this book, it's all out war. Harry's owl, Mad-eye, one of the Weasley twins, Tonks and Remus(who had a kid), Snape, Bella, Doby, Kreacher, and Previously Sirus, Dumbledore, and Cedric are killed. In the end Harry defeats Voldy and get this Mrs.Weasley cusses at and kills Bella. All is well, the last chapter of the book shows that Harry and Ginny get married, Ron and Hermione get married and they all have kids with story relevent names, kind-of. Neville becomes a teacher, Snape was a headmaster at one point, Teddy(tonks and lupin's kid) is living a normall life despite the fact that he, like Harry, had been bron during a war, being raised without parents. J.K. ends the final book with an amazing ending, as I shall end my one and only giant HP rant: all is well.
